Loose clutch lever on 6245

I have a 1993 Zetor 6245 and I use it for hauling and small jobs. Lately I have noticed that the clutch lever feels really loose. I can still change gears, but sometimes it makes a grinding sound.

Could this be a worn part or something more serious? Has anyone had this problem with older Zetors? I'd like to know how you fixed it or if there's a good part I should buy.

You'll need to split the tractor to get a good look at it but I suspect it's either your clutch release bearing or clutch fingers are worn. While you're in there, you might as well replace the clutch plate and pressure plate as a set. That's a good investment, especially on older tractors. The Luk brand kits are solid and you can usually find them at any decent tractor parts supplier. Some fellas have also found that adjusting the clutch linkage first can help, but if it's already grinding, you're probably past that point. Good luck!!

If your clutch is grinding when you shift, it probably isn't fully disengaging. Before you take apart the tractor, try bleeding the hydraulics, assuming it has them. Air bubbles might be the problem, and that's an easy fix

I wouldn't cross the roll pins of the list as well. If they're worn or damages, the clutch may not disengage properly, thus the grinding noise.

Hey @DumplingsDistress344, sounds like your clutch might be on its last legs. I’d check the linkage and release bearing first before splitting anything. Sometimes that fixes the grinding.
